Two weeks after changing the press conference hall of the Foreign Ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia due to the photo of Khomeini and Qassem Soleimani, the head of the Protocol General Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was removed from his position, APA reports.
According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mehdi Henardust was dismissed from the position of head of the General Department of Protocol. Mohsen Murtezaifar was appointed to this position.
The new head of the Protocol General Department of the Iranian MFA previously served as consul general in Istanbul, Frankfurt and Jeddah.
Note that Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, who visited Iran on June 17, refused to hold a press conference in the hall with photos of Khomeini and Qasem Soleimani, and the Iranian side was forced to change the place of the press conference. The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasir Kanani, immediately issued a statement, saying that the reason for the change of the location of the conference was technical problems.
