Chinese Defense Ministry said on Thursday that the military sent naval vessels to Sudan to evacuate the Chinese personnel in the country, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Sudan has been embroiled in clashes between its army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group since mid-April.
A Defense Ministry spokesperson said the situation on the ground in Sudan continues to deteriorate, resulting in China sending an unspecified number of ships to the country on April 26. Various countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have evacuated diplomatic personnel and other civilians as airports in Sudan are becoming unavailable due to fighting.
