Baghaei: Iran and regional countries can ensure security of Strait of Hormuz

Iran and regional countries can ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said at a press conference, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.

According to him, the only security problem in the Strait of Hormuz is the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Esmaeil Baghaei noted that the security of the Strait of Hormuz has been ensured by Iran for decades and added that any external interference in the region’s affairs further complicates the situation. He also said it is encouraging that European countries are being vigilant on this issue and are not falling into the “trap” of the United States and Israel.

“Iran, as a coastal country, can ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz together with regional countries,” he noted.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that the condition for this is ending the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran.
