Baku-APA. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran and Iraq are keen to expand their relations, despite the enemies’ efforts to hinder the two countries’ progress, APA reports quoting Press TV.

Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting with Iraqi Vice President Khudayr al-Khuzai in Tehran on Saturday.

The Iranian president said that Iran and Iraq must boost their bilateral relations to ensure that both countries continue to make progress.

“There are no limits to the expansion of all-out relations in all fields, including culture, science, technology, energy, development, trade, and investment,” he stated.

Al-Khuzai expressed appreciation for Iran’s support of the Iraqi nation and said, “We need to develop our friendly and brotherly relations.”

During his stay in Iran, al-Khuzai held separate meetings with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili, and a number of other senior Iranian officials.
