Baku-APA. At least two persons were killed and 23 others were wounded in an ambush of a convoy of passenger vehicles in Maguindanao province of south Philippines before dawn Friday, local media reported. Enditem, APA reports quoting Xinhua
The incident occurred at around 2:50 a.m. at Labungan village when a group of armed men fired at the passenger vehicles, dzbb radio quoted Datu Odin Sinsuat town police head Lendsey Sinsuat as saying.
The fatalities were not immediately identified, he added.
Citing initial reports reaching him, Sinsuat said the vehicles were heading for Cotabato city, in Minadao region, at the time of the incident. Police are still trying to determine the motive for the incident.
