8 militants killed in clash with security forces in NW Pakistan

Baku-APA. At least eight militants were killed and one soldier injured on Monday evening in a clash between militants and security forces in northwestern tribal belt of Pakistan, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Quoting official sources, local media reported that the clash took place in Dabori area of Orakzai region, a militant insurgent area at Pak-Afghan border, which is believed to be a safe haven of Pakistani Taliban.

There are no immediate reports of the number of militants and security forces that took part in the clash. Identities of the killed Taliban were also not known yet.

Earlier on September 30, security forces reported that a number of 16 militants were killed, eight others injured and five militant hideouts were destroyed by the security forces in the same area of Orakzai.

On September 20, security forces claimed that they had killed 29 militants and injured 72 others in a clash following a check post attack launched by militants in the very same Dabori area. However, the Pakistani Taliban denied both incidents, saying that it was a fake story made up by security forces.
