Baku-APA. A new Israeli airstrike has killed at least one Palestinian and injured another one in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources say, APA reports quoting Press TV.

In the early hours of Wednesday, an Israeli hit a car in Rafah, near the border with Egypt.

The new strike on the coastal sliver came a day after Palestinian factions announced an informal ceasefire with Tel Aviv.

The ceasefire, brokered by Egypt, aimed at ending the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, which has killed twenty Palestinians dead and scores more injured.

Israel stepped up its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Thursday, shortly after eight Israelis were killed near the Red Sea resort town of Eilat.

Israeli officials had blamed a Gaza-based group called the Popular Resistance Committee (PRC) for Thursday’s attack and vowed a “full force” response targeting Gaza.

Israel said the attackers had infiltrated from the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, although the PRC, which is not affiliated with Hamas, denied involvement in the incident.

Hamas has said that it had nothing to do with the assault and has warned against any act of aggression against the Gaza Strip.
