"We must strengthen the unity of the Turkic world," Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov said during his speech at the International Congress titled "The First Turkological Congress: A Century of Scientific and Cultural Heritage", held as part of Turkic World Week dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, APA reports.

"Today's threats show that no people and no nation is immune to these dangers. Unity is essential to protect ourselves from these threats. Because major changes are taking place in international politics today. Therefore, such meetings and congresses must be held. We must sincerely and wholeheartedly understand this and convey it, as the most important duty, especially to today's youth and future generations," the minister noted.

According to him, there are more than 300 prominent figures, scholars, and intellectuals in the history of the Turkic peoples whose legacy has been re-examined and is being studied during the period of independent statehood: "Uzbek youth are familiar with these figures. Extensive work is being carried out in this direction, and congresses and meetings are being organized. Within the framework of these meetings, scholars, intellectuals, and people devoted to this field from across the Turkic world come together. I believe that in the next century we will become even stronger thanks to this unity. I believe that in the near future the Turkic world will take its rightful place in the world and that the Turkic peoples will demonstrate their friendship and brotherhood to the entire world."
