Baku-APA. Yemeni army soldiers have opened fire on a car in the southern port city of Aden, killing two people and wounding three others, a witness says, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The Yemeni soldiers began shooting when the car tried to overtake a military convoy on a bridge on Friday, according to the victims’ friend, Abdullah Seif al-Dibai.

"Two of my friends were killed and three others wounded," Dibai told AFP.

He said his friends were in a hurry to get home in time for the iftar meal, which breaks the fast of Ramadan.

There is no end in sight to Yemen’s six-month-old political crisis, which began in January, when protesters started holding anti-regime demonstrations.

On Friday, tens of thousands of people once again poured into the streets of the capital Sana’a and the southern city of Taizz to demand the ouster of Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Saleh travelled to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment on June 4, one day after he was seriously injured in an attack on his compound in Sana’a.

Since Saleh left the country, Yemeni protesters have been staging daily demonstrations across the country.
