Plane crash claims 10 lives in India

Baku-APA. At least 10 people have been killed after a small plane crashed into a residential community near the Indian capital of New Delhi, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The PC-12 single-engine aircraft of Air Charter Services India Private Limited went down Wednesday night in a densely-populated area in Faridabad, located some 25 kilometers (15 miles) east of New Delhi, private NDTV television network reported on Thursday.

All seven people on board died as the plane crashed on the roof of a two-storey house. Three women in a residential unit were also killed as the fuselage landed on the roof of the building. The nose of the plane landed on a narrow street below.

The plane was reportedly flying from the eastern city of Patna to New Delhi. It was carrying a patient in critical condition to a private hospital in the capital.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the Swiss-made turboprop plane could not withstand strong winds and bad weather in the area, and the pilots lost control.
