Iranian opposition leaders attacked

Baku – APA. There were clashes during the demonstrations on the occasion of 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. According to APA, pro-opposition Jaras website informed that opposition leader Mehdi Karroubi was attacked during the demonstration. His car was beaten, but he was not injured. The website also reported about the attack against former president of Iran Mohammad Khatami. Late Khomeini’s granddaughter Zahra Ashraki and her husband Mohammad Reza Khatami were reportedly detained by police. Mohammad Reza is a brother of the former president Mohammad Khatami. Karroubi was also among the detainees.
