Togrul Narimanbekov’s spouse Sevil Narimanbekova told APA that the People's Artist will be buried at the Passy Cemetery in Paris on that day at 15:30 local time (18:30 Baku time). The Mayor of Paris has already given permission in this regard.
The Passy Cemetery was established in 1820 and is located in the centre of Paris on the right bank of the Seine near the Champs-Élysées. Famous political and cultural figures, including well-known painters Édouard Mane and Berthe Morisot, composers Claude Debussy and Gabriel Fauré, Leila Pahlavi, daughter of the Shah of Iran and others were buried at this cemetery.
The laureate of the USSR State Prize and People's Artist of Azerbaijan, individual pensioner of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Togrul Narimanbekov died at 83 on June 7. The second wife of the deceased wanted him to be buried in France. However, his daughter Asmar Narimanbekova opposed it. She demanded to bury her father in Azerbaijan and appealed to the French court in this regard. Court has passed a judgment to bury him in France. An appeal filed against judgment has been rejected.
