Five European artists to work in Azerbaijan

Baku. Kamala Guliyevaâ€“APA. Five artists from the Northern Europe will work at the cultural centers in Baku and its suburbs. Eva Koch, Anna Lindal, Johanna Hyrkas, Lotte Konou Lund and Monica Larsson from Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden will conduct public community art researches at the cultural centers in Ahmadli, Pirshagi, Bina, Gala and Shuvalan villages of Baku. Their visit is funded by the Nordic Culture Point organization, Open Society Instituteâ€™s Assistance Fund (OSI AF).
OSI AF Art and Culture Director Jahangir Selimkhanov said at the press conference on Tuesday that Culture and Tourism Office of Baku City was also supporting the project. Their goal is to cover Azerbaijan with the network of joint art points and to organize cross-culture meetings with the artists representing the other cultures. Selimkhanov said the project would be carried out within a year, but the artists had no opportunity to stay in Azerbaijan for a year because it was very expensive project. Therefore the artists will visit Azerbaijan for several times.
