Opening the ceremony the French ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Meunier said that the exhibition is symbolic: "The Art of Nakhchivan is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan. This exhibition will promote the development of cultural relations between our countries. "

P. Meunier said that Azerbaijan and France have excellent bilateral relations in politics, economy and culture. "And we intend to develop these relations in future", he said.

The Ambassador noted that he was impressed by Azerbaijani artistsâ€™ talents: "In September, I got acquainted with U. Hamzaevaâ€™s works and was shocked beautiful colors on the pictures. So we decided first to hold exhibition of her works. "

Ulviya Hamzaeva was born in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan in 1982. Ulviyya has been teaching art and art history in Nakhchivan State University since 2005. She has been awarded with the title â€œHonoured Artist of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republicâ€ in 2008. In 2009 she was awarded with the title â€œHonoured Artist of Azerbaijan Republicâ€ by President of Azerbaijan Republic. Ulviyya Hamzayeva has been elected as Chairman of â€œArtists Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republicâ€ in February 2011. Her works belong to local museums, private and public collections.
