Moscow to host 2nd International Muslim Magomayev Vocalists Contest - PHOTO
Sinyavskaya said the contest was founded two years ago in honor of Muslim Magomayev. Speaking about the terms of the contest, she said that professional singers from 24 to 35 years having special musical education could attend the contest. “The contest is unique because the participants must demonstrate their talent and mastership performing works of both classical opera and variety art repertoire. This is quite difficult task. The contest will be held in two rounds. In the first round, the participants will perform classic and pop songs from the world’s musical treasure, but in the second one, they have to perform popular songs from the Muslim Magomayev’s repertoireâ€.
Sinyavskaya said they have received proposals from Italy and Canada to organize concerts of the contest’s participants. “The 2nd International Muslim Magomayev Vocalists Contest can be held in Baku tooâ€, said Sinyavskaya.
Araz Aghalarov said 207 people from 18 countries have already applied for the participation in the contest. Representatives of the US, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and other countries will participate in the contest. “The winners will receive money reward – USD 20 000 – 1st place, USD 10 000 – 2nd place, USD 5000 – 3rd placeâ€.
