110th anniversary of Khan Shushinski marked

Photos describing the life and creative activity of the outstanding mugham singer were demonstrated in the foyer of the Mugham Center. The jubilee event was directed by Hafiz Guliyev, stage director of the Opera and Ballet Theater. The presenter at the event was Rafael Huseynov, parliamentarian, director of the National Library Museum named after Nizami Gandjavi. Huseynov said Khan Shushinski had great talent, bright voice.
Rafael Huseynov spoke about the life, childhood of the mugham singer.
â€œKhan Shushinski was born in Shusha, which is considered to be conservatoire of Azerbaijan. His name was Isfandiyar, but his mugham teacher Islam Abdullayev named him â€œKhanâ€ after his performance made a great impression on the guests at a party. He performed â€œMirza Huseyn segahiâ€, â€œShahnazâ€, â€œGarabagh shikastasiâ€, â€œKurd-Shahnaz,â€ â€œRastâ€, â€œBayati-Shirazâ€, â€œChahargahâ€, â€œMahurâ€, â€œHeyratiâ€, â€œShurâ€ and other mughams. Though he is known only as an outstanding mugham singer, a number of songs composed by him are still loved. â€œGemerimâ€, â€œShushanin daglariâ€, â€œAy gozalâ€, â€œMenden gen gezmeâ€, â€œAl yanagindaâ€, â€œDaglarda chichekâ€, â€œGozal yarimâ€, which are considered to be folk songs, were composed by Khan Shushinski.

The video materials reflecting the life and creativity of the singer was shown at the event. Azerbaijani Peopleâ€™s Arrtist Habil Aliyev, who was participating in the event, said that all singers participating today are in debt to Shushinski: â€œBecause he raised our art to the top and made it respectable. This person was a real Khan and mugham singer. I had to come here. It is a debt of all of usâ€.
Academician Vasim Mammadaliyev said that there have never been second Khan Shushinski in Azerbaijani culture: â€œKhan had a mysterious voice. Khan was such an artist that Jabbar, Seyid Shushinski, Alasgar Abdullayev liked his voice. Alasgar Abdullayev said to him to protect his voice. Khan is very great artist. Khan is a schoolâ€.
