TURKSOY exhibition in Europe â€“ <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION </font>

First Lady of Turkey Hayrunnisa Gul, members of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, top officials of the Council of Europe and other invitees attended the opening ceremony, APA correspondent reports from Strasbourg. PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu, TURKSOY Chairman Dusen Kaseinov and Azerbaijanâ€™s permanent representative to the Council of Europe Arif Mammadov addressed the ceremony.

Cavusoglu called the exhibition as an important event in the development of cross-culture dialogue, mutual understanding and popularization of different cultures.

TURKSOY chairman Kaseinov spoke about the history of the organization. TURKSOY was established in 1993 by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey. Then six regions of Russia, Gagauz region of Moldova also joined TURKSOY as observer. â€œTURKSOYâ€™s main goal is to protect and develop common cultural heritage between the Turkic-speaking people. Art works created by the artists of TURKSOY countries have been displayed in 13 different exhibitions in the world since 1998. TURKSOY organized Novruz festivities in Paris and Strasbourg this yearâ€, said Kaseinov and thanked the Azerbaijani and Turkish permanent representations to the Council of Europe for their support to the exhibition of TURKSOY artists in Strasbourg.

Azerbaijani permanent representative to the Council of Europe Arif Mammadov said as a part of large family, Azerbaijan attached great importance to the Turkic heritage and at the same time accepted the European values. â€œTherefore we are attaching special attention to the dialogue between the cultures and religions, between the North and South, East and West. While launching the project â€œArtists for Dialogueâ€ founded in Baku conference of the ministers of culture of the Council of Europe in 2008, we believed that the artists could be a leading force in the development of cross-culture dialogueâ€.

Azerbaijanâ€™s representative to TURKSOY Elchin Gafarli said the exhibition aimed to popularize the Turkic culture within the framework of the â€œYear of Cross-Culture Dialogueâ€.

The exhibition displays art works of the painters from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, as well as Russiaâ€™s Tataristan, Bashkiria, Tuva, Altay, Sakha, Yakutia, Khakasia regions, Moldovaâ€™s Gagauz region, Ukraineâ€™s Crimea, Bulgaria and other countries.
