- â€œThe Prophet Yusufâ€ series caused great interests among the Azerbaijani viewers. What impression do you have about this interest?

- I am happy that â€œThe Prophet Yusufâ€ was screened in Azerbaijan and I hope that the Azerbaijani viewers will highly accept these series. I am Azerbaijani and my native language is Azerbaijani and I am proud that these series caused such interest in Azerbaijan. I would like to visit Baku and to meet Azerbaijani people.

- Do you know Azerbaijani version of the series? Are you satisfied with the level of dubbing?

- I saw first part of the film dubbing into Azerbaijani and those who saw the filmâ€™s Azerbaijani version told me that it was in a high level. I was very interested in the Azerbaijani version. I think it was made by professional translators and synchronizers. They gave a new film to the Azerbaijani people, culture and cinema history. This is very valuable present. When I visit Baku I will meet with the translators and synchronizers of the film.

- Where else the series were screened except Azerbaijan?

- â€œThe Prophet Yusufâ€ was screened in the Latin American, European and Arab countries, as well as in Turkey. It was translated into the different languages of the world. I know that everywhere it was accepted positively.

- What principles were you guided by during the casting? Please give information about the casting of actors impersonated Yusuf and Zuleikha.

- The film was produced on the basis of Holy Quran surah â€œYusufâ€. Regarding the casting of actors impersonated Yusuf and Zuleikha, it is the Allahâ€™s will. I found Mostafa Zamani, who is playing the role of Prophet Yusuf, after a year-and-half searches. I saw him on the photo shown by my friend. I also found with difficulty Katayun Riyahi, who is playing the role of Zuleyha.

-How long did the shooting of the film last? Which of the parts was the most difficult to shoot?

-The series were produced in seven years. I can not underline the shooting of which part was the most difficult. There were difficult and easy moments during the shooting. I felt the mercy of Allah during the shooting.

-One of the most attractive moments is the objectivity in historical religious approach. This is particularly observed in the attitude towards Jews. Israel is considered an enemy in the official policy pursued by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Didnâ€™t it cause pressure by the Iranian state?

-I have tried to maintain history in the film. The film was shot basing on Yusuf sura of the Koran. It is inadmissible to add to or remove something from the history. The film exactly describes how the ancestors of the Jews were. We could even show how holy they were. The objectivity was preserved. I did not undergo pressure in connection with this film. I am concerned that after this film the grave of Prophet Yusuf in Al-Khalil, Palestine was destroyed by the Jewish extremists. This is the only issue worrying me.

-What film are you working on now? What historical films will you shoot after that?

-Now we are working on the scenario of the film â€œProphet Musaâ€. Studies and preparations are being made in connection with it. I want to shoot historical films in future. I want to shoot films â€œProphet Ibrahimâ€, â€œSalman Farsiâ€ etc.

-Are you planning to shoot a film or series together with Azerbaijani filmmakers?

-It will have great influence on the development of the cultural relations between the two countries. We will benefit from the potential, experience of our Azerbaijani brothers. I want our cooperation with Azerbaijan and other Islamic countries to develop.

-What do you want to tell the Azerbaijani people?

-I sincerely greet the Azerbaijani people and wish them always to be proud. I want to ask those who are watching the film â€œProphet Yusufâ€. If they like the film, let them pray for me. I wish Allah allows me to shoot historical films. I could not imagine that this film will be loved so much by the audience. The film â€œProphet Yusufâ€ is being loved more than I expectedâ€¦
