â€œAmazon Exhibitionâ€ to be opened in Germany

The exhibition jointly organized by the international researchers will display archeological findings which prove that Amazons were not legend, but real fighter-women.

The organizers believe that sensational findings will be displayed for the first time. Speyer Museum officials said they would exhibit materials found on Altay Mountains and Greece, as well as exhibits borrowed from the European and Central Asian museums.

Nourida Ateshi, first Caucasian researcher of amazons, says the first cave of the amazons - Ana Zagha is in Gobustan, which is situated in Azerbaijan and has been included into the world cultural heritage. The ancient lands of Caucasus Albania â€“ Derbent, Gabala, Oghuz, Gakh, especially Karabakh region are the native lands of amazons. Ateshi told APA that she researched amazonsâ€™ history in eight countries and she insists to prove with the archeological, historic and ethnographic facts that the Caucasus was homeland of amazons and todayâ€™s Azerbaijani women are direct heirs of amazons.

Nourida Ateshi expressed concern that some Azerbaijani scientists do not accept this fact, while a number of archeologists agree that Amazons are not myth, but real historical fact.
â€œSome countries that have recently gained their independence write new history by falsifying history. Such approaches are denied by the worldâ€™s science, their scientists and false sciences are not accepted. Though this is not directly applied to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijanâ€™s ancient history does not need a patch. Moisey Kalankatuklu, who first wrote the history of the Caucasus, said while mentioning Azerbaijanâ€™s ancient names that this country was called Atropatena, Albaniya and Amazoniya. Basing on the historical, archeological, ethnographic studies in the Caucasus, it is possible to prove to the whole world that Amazons are the women of the Caucasus. European countries allocate funds on the joint projects playing role in the development of Azerbaijanâ€™s science. Azerbaijani government is also allocating funds on scientific studies, especially archeological excavations. I want Azerbaijani historians, particularly archeologists to make objective contribution to this research. I also want our scientists to be responsible, careful, fair and unbiased,â€ she said.
