Baku. Ulkar Gasimova – APA. Azerbaijan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater staged Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata conducted by the famous German conductor Pierre-Dominique Ponelli, APA reports. The theater’s young soloist – honorary artist of Azerbaijan Inara Babayeva was a prima acting Violetta Valery’s part. Popular artist Azer Zeynalov (Alfredo Germont), Avaz Abdullayev (Giorgio Germont), Ali Asgarov (Marchese d’Obigny) and Akram Poladov (Dottore Grenvil) also played parts. The performance was accompanied by voices “bravo” and applauds. Conductor Pierre-Dominique Ponelli called it a good case in his creative life. “I am always noting in my interviews that Azerbaijan has a high-level opera art. I love your country and culture and kind people living here. I was closely familiarized with the works of your outstanding composers Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Gara Garayev and Fikret Amirov. I played waltz from Gara Garayev’s “Seven Beauties” ballet for several times during my concerts in Europe. Today, La Traviata proved my good ideas about the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater. You have very professional musicians in your orchestra. Inara Babayeva’s performance amazed me. You have a Gold Soprano. I will talk with my friends at the Berlin, Munich, Dresden and Salzburg operas to organize Inara’s tour on Germany. I believe that she can be a star of world’s leading opera theaters”.
