Karabakh carpets illustrate calendar

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. â€œKarabakh, one of the ancient parts and pearls of Azerbaijan is known as a center of art and culture. Stone, potter and metallic works, as well as weaving handicraft passed original way of development. Rich resources of the region, which is main condition for the development of handicrafts, gave strong impetus to its spread in the region. Karabakh carpets were well-known even in the middle centuries for technique of production, variety of designs and colorsâ€, said in the calendar 2010 â€œKarabakh carpetsâ€ published on the initiative of the Institute of History of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Public Union for the Regional Development, APA reports. The photos of Karabakh carpets were used in 800-circulation calendar. There is detailed information about the Karabakh carpets in the second page of the calendar.
