The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Venezuela has reached 4,490, according to Jorge Rodriguez, President of the National Assembly (parliament) of the Bolivarian Republic, APA reports.
According to the daily government update published by Rodriguez on his Telegram channel, 16,740 people were injured and 17,907 were left homeless. 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and 856 were significantly damaged. Search and rescue operations rescued 6,462 people, and 32,401 were treated in hospitals and medical facilities. Aid was provided to 120,794 families, and 19,583 people were housed in 108 temporary camps. 9,995 tons of food were donated to the victims.
