The United States has urged its citizens in Beirut to leave Lebanon while commercial flights remain available, warning that the security situation could deteriorate rapidly.
In a statement, the United States Embassy in Beirut said it was closely monitoring developments across the country, describing the security environment as “complex” and subject to sudden change.
The advisory comes despite an ongoing 10 day temporary ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which has reduced immediate hostilities but has not eliminated broader risks.
“Security conditions in Lebanon remain unpredictable,” the embassy said, adding that US nationals should consider departing the country using commercial flights while options are still available.
Tensions along the Israel Lebanon border have escalated in recent weeks, raising concerns among international observers about the potential for renewed violence even during the ceasefire period.
Officials have not indicated any immediate evacuation plans but stressed that the situation could shift quickly, limiting travel options at short notice.
