Washington is closely monitoring Iran and is sending significant forces, including warships, to the region, US President Donald Trump told reporters, APA reports.
"There are a lot of ships moving in this direction, a large fleet moving forward. Let's see what happens. Significant forces are being sent towards Iran," Trump said.
The president also stressed that he was closely monitoring Tehran's actions. Trump claimed that it was after his warning of a strike on Tehran that the Iranian regime was forced to back down and cancel the planned executions of protesters.
