US authorities have imposed sanctions on the son and grandson of former Cuban President Raúl Castro, as well as the president of the Caribbean republic and members of his family. This was stated in a notice published on the website of the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, APA reports.
According to the document, five people were added to the sanctions list, including Cuban leader Miguel Diaz-Canel, his wife Lis Cuesta Peraza and her son from her first marriage, Manuel Anido Cuesta, and the son and grandson of Rual Castro, Alejandro Castro Espin and Raul Alejandro Castro Calis.
In addition, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, the Cuban Institute of Friendship of Peoples, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution of Cuba, and two other organizations.
