Former US president Donald Trump's mounting legal troubles have strengthened his position, APA reports citing BBC.
It was noted that an average of opinion polls from 31 July suggests he has a commanding lead of 37 points over his nearest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Thus, Trump's rating among Republican candidates was 53%, DeSantis's rating was 16%, and former Secretary of State Mike Pence's was 4%.
According to the source, his supporters - which equates to about 40% to 45% of the Republican electorate - believe that the indictments are politically motivated.
