President Donald Trump welcomed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the White House Friday, greeting the Ukrainian president outside the West Wing, APA reports citing CNN.
Asked by reporters outside the West Wing if he thought he could convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine, Trump said, “Yup, we can.”
Later, during remarks in the White House Cabinet Room, Trump said he thinks the Russian president “wants to end the war.”
“I spoke to him yesterday for two-and-a-half hours, we went through a lot of details,” Trump added. “He wants to get it ended, I think that President Zelenskyy wants to get it ended — now we have to get it done.”
