American President Donald Trump asserts that the United States may soon either resume military operations in the Strait of Hormuz or even take something "much more serious" against Iran, APA reports.
In an interview with CBS News, the American leader expressed the opinion that de facto control of the Strait of Hormuz is the "only weapon" in Tehran's hands. "We would have opened it. I was simply doing a favor for certain countries that asked me not to do that. We would have opened it <...>. But we could easily go back to that," the White House incumbent stated. When asked whether Washington intends to act in this manner now, since it is dissatisfied with Tehran's response to new American proposals to end military action, the president replied: "I don't know. Either that or [something] much more serious." He did not go into detail.
At the same time, the head of the Washington administration once again lashed out at Iran's response. "It was just a bad proposal, a stupid proposal, really <...> made by people who have no idea what kind of danger they're in," Trump said.
He was asked whether the Iranians were making concessions to the Americans. "Yes, of course. But not enough," the president replied.
