US President Donald Trump is unhappy with the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who prioritizes military action against the Palestinian Hamas movement over ceasefire negotiations, reported the Wall Street Journal, citing its sources, APA reports.
According to them, Trump's irritation has increased especially after Israel's strike against Qatar. In a conversation with his advisers, the American leader expressed the opinion that Netanyahu was mocking him.
The newspaper notes that despite his dissatisfaction, Trump has refrained from taking harsh measures against Israel. The publication attributes this to the good personal relations between Trump and Netanyahu. Several unnamed US officials told The Wall Street Journal that Trump is proud of his warm relationship with the Israeli prime minister and does not want to damage it.
The US leader also remains committed to establishing diplomatic relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia and considers this a major diplomatic goal.
