U.S. President Donald Trump during a press briefing at the White House has said he would welcome the participation of Russian and Chinese leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping at the G20 summit to be held in Miami in 2026, adding that he is ready to discuss the matter if Moscow and Beijing show interest, APA reports.
“That’s an interesting question. If they want to participate, I would be glad to have them there. They could come as observers. I’m not sure they would want to be observers, but if they do, we can certainly discuss it,” Trump stated.
It should be noted that the G20 summit will be held in the U.S. for the first time in nearly 20 years, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence. The event will take place in Miami, Florida.
