Trilateral talks between Moscow, Washington, and Kyiv have been suspended, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during a meeting of NATO foreign ministers held in Stockholm, APA reports.
He stated that no discussions are currently taking place. Nevertheless, Rubio expressed hope that the situation would change in the future.
The U.S. Secretary of State admitted that the previous rounds of dialogue had produced no results. Despite this, he noted that the United States remains ready to continue acting as a mediator.
Rubio stressed that the U.S. does not intend to participate in endless and unproductive negotiations.
He expressed confidence that the war can end only at the negotiating table, not through a traditional victory by one side.
It should be noted that three rounds of talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine were held in 2026. The first took place in Abu Dhabi on January 23-24, the second was also held in Abu Dhabi on February 4-5, where an agreement on prisoner exchange was reached, while the third round was held in Geneva on February 17-18.
