The United States is prepared to resume military operations if no agreement is reached with Iran, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Reuters reports.

According to him, Washington has the capability to restart strikes if necessary.

“If necessary, we have the capability to resume operations. We have sufficient military reserves for this both in the region and elsewhere in the world,” Hegseth stressed.

The secretary noted that despite the conflict with Iran, the United States has not shifted away from the Asia-Pacific region and is capable of operating in several directions simultaneously.

According to him, the U.S. defense industry is being strengthened, and ammunition production is planned to increase by two to four times in the near future.

Hegseth added that President Donald Trump is demonstrating patience and wants to reach an agreement that would prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
