The Dow Jones index rose by 1.42% to 42,583.32 points, the S&P 500 index increased by 1.76% to 5,767.57 points, and the Nasdaq index climbed by 2.27% to 18,188.59 points.
Meanwhile, the European stock markets continued to decline. The FTSE 100 index fell by 0.10% to 8,638.01 points, France's CAC 40 index dropped by 0.20% to 8,022.33 points, and Germany’s DAX index decreased by 0.17% to 22,852.66 points.
In global currency markets, the euro gained 0.03% against the dollar, reaching 1.0804 USD.
