Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth declined to specify how many American aircraft carriers will be stationed in the Middle East following the arrival of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, APA reports.
The Secretary of Defense spoke with reporters in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hegseth was asked to clarify whether the Theodore Roosevelt would replace or join one of the two aircraft carriers in the Middle East. "That's a valid question, but I won't answer it. I'll just say that my job is to provide the Supreme Commander with the widest range of options possible," Hegseth said.
He was also asked whether he believed a military solution to the conflict with Iran was possible. "It can be resolved in various ways," Hegseth replied.
