In the United States, the wife of former senator Bob Menendez has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison on corruption charges, APA reports, citing Bloomberg.
The New York District Court found 58-year-old Nadine Menendez (Arslanian), the wife of the former Democratic senator, guilty of accepting bribes in the form of cash, gold, and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
She was convicted on 15 counts of helping her husband misuse his official authority.
It should be noted that in 2022, during an FBI raid on the couple’s home in New Jersey, investigators discovered $480,000 in cash, approximately $150,000 worth of gold bars, and a luxury car in the garage.
