Relative of Top Mexican Drug Lord Arrested

Baku â€“ APA. Police in Mexico have arrested a relative of the countryâ€™s top fugitive, Joaquin â€œShortyâ€ Guzman, APA reports quoting â€œThe Voice of Americaâ€.
Authorities say Victor Manuel Felix was detained last week, along with eight others, during a series of operations across the country.
Felix is the suspected head of a financial network linked to Guzmanâ€™s Sinaloa drug cartel.
Guzman, who has been on the run since escaping from a Mexican prison in 2001, is one of the worldâ€™s most powerful drug traffickers and richest men. The U.S. financial magazine, Forbes, estimates he has a fortune of $1 billion.
The United States has offered a $5 million reward for information leading to Guzmanâ€™s capture.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon has deployed thousands of troops across Mexico to fight the countryâ€™s drug cartels. The spiraling violence has left at least 34,000 people dead.
