One of the most important outcomes of the talks held in Switzerland was the agreement in principle between the United States and Iran to establish a direct military communication channel aimed at preventing future escalations, UnHerd reported, citing U.S. Vice President James David Vance, APA reports.
According to Vance, one of Washington's main objectives was to establish a direct communication mechanism with the Iranian side in order to reduce tensions.
He said that Iran responded positively to the proposal.
"They said, 'No problem. A representative from the IRGC will work with a CENTCOM representative in Doha, and we will resolve many disputes through this channel,'" the U.S. Vice President said.
Vance noted that such a mechanism could help prevent incidents and possible military tensions between the two sides.
