Baku – APA. Pro-government demonstrators have gathered outside the home of a leading Cuban dissident to yell insults at her and other opposition figures inside, APA reports quoting “Associated Press”.
The "act of repudiation" is taking place on the date recognized by Cuba’s opposition as the anniversary of a March 2003 crackdown by security forces against peaceful dissent.
About 200 government supporters called the dissidents "worms" and shouted slogans in support of brothers Fidel and Raul Castro on Friday.
Some 75 activists, intellectuals and social commentators were arrested in the 2003 sweep and sentenced to long jail terms.
The government agreed last year to free all that remained in prison, and just two of those arrested in the crackdown are still being held.
