Western Azerbaijan Community: Official Yerevan has no intention to sign peace treaty with Azerbaijan

“Remarks made by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting on September 7 once again show that the official Yerevan does not have the intention to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan and put an end to territorial claims against Azerbaijan,” the Western Azerbaijan Community said in the statement, APA reports.

“Armenia only verbally recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. In truth, Armenia’s position is like this: Armenia recognizes Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity if "the rights and security of Garabagh Armenians are ensured through the Baku-Khankandi negotiations under the international mechanism.

By repeating utopian ideas such as "international mechanism" every time, the Armenian minister actually imposes a condition on Azerbaijan. History well remembers N. Pashinyan's speech with "7 conditions" against Azerbaijan after the 2020 Tovuz battles and the subsequent fate of him and his country.

Unfortunately, the Prime Minister of Armenia not only doesn’t sign the peace treaty but also escalates the situation in the region. We are emphasizing once again that N. Pashinyan destroyed the negotiation process recently with his appeal about the "anniversary of the independence" of the so-called organization.

Armenia must completely withdraw the remnants of their army from the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, must stop interfering in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, and should initiate contacts with the Western Azerbaijan Community regarding our return to our own ancestral lands taking an example from Azerbaijan, which proposed dialogue to the Armenian residents living in Garabagh,” said the Community.
