The easing of US restrictions on diesel fuel exports from Russia will have a positive impact on the Russian economy, Interfax reports.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak made the remarks in a statement to journalists on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week.
"Undoubtedly, this is a positive signal for our economy and is generally linked to increasing refining volumes at oil refineries and boosting production. This means additional tax revenues for the budget, budget formation, allocation of funds for social spending, as well as investment opportunities. For our oil and gas industry, it is important in terms of implementing a certain program to increase production and refining volumes," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
According to him, in line with the agreements, supplies will be delivered to global markets, including the United States.
Alexander Novak recalled that Russia could increase its supply volumes to 3–3.5 million tons by the end of the year:
"This is the previous volume that Russia supplied to global markets. We are talking about more than 10% of the global market."
