"I consider this date when the conference organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community is being held to be very significant," the Head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Şamil Ayrım, said during a panel at the 2nd international conference organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community on the right to return, APA reports.
Ş.Ayrım noted that the issue of return to Western Azerbaijan must be raised globally: "Azerbaijan wants peace, and the people of Western Azerbaijan want to return to their homes. Türkiye will support the call of the people of Western Azerbaijan to return to their homeland until the end. This is the common fight of all those who believe in justice."
Ayrım also shared his views on the issue of Armenia's territorial claims: "In Azerbaijan's call for the return to Western Azerbaijan, no territorial claim is made. However, Armenia's constitution includes territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Türkiye. Just like Azerbaijan, Türkiye demands the elimination of these claims."
