Secretary-General of World Tourism Organization comments on destruction of Azerbaijani cultural and historical monuments in Nagorno Karabakh by Armenians

We consider that the cultural and historical monument in any country doesnâ€™t belong to that country and people. It is a panhuman value and we have to protect themâ€, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai said commenting on the destruction of Azerbaijanâ€™s cultural and historical monuments in Nagorno Karabakh, which is occupied by Armenians. The guest, who is for the first time in Azerbaijan, said that in the measures they paid attention to these issues.

As regards whether I will visit Nagorno Karabakh or not, UNWTO leader expressed hope in soonest settlement of the conflict: â€œWe hope that this problem will be settled in a short time. We share everything that is needed towards the settlement of that conflict. We would like this problem to be settled in accordance with the interest of each side. Wordless, we want to visit Nagorno Karabakh, but I havenâ€™t specified it for myself yetâ€.
