Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance met with WHO RO representatives Mr. Siddhartha Sankar Datta, the Programme Manager, and Vaccine-Preventable diseases and Immunization (VPI) Expert, and Mrs. Roberta Pastore, the Team Lead and Immunization Analytics and Monitoring Expert, APA reports citing State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance.
The project on COVID-19 vaccination support project carried out jointly with the European Union and the WHO since June 2021 was discussed at the meeting. It was noted that within the framework of the project it is planned to hand over equipment for transportation and storage of vaccines in accordance with the principle of the cold chain to medical institutions under the auspices of the TABIB.
The sides also exchanged views on WHO's support for Azerbaijan's routine immunization and the importance of vaccination in protecting public health.
