"We are saddened that the tension between Russia and Ukraine has turned into a hot conflict," said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, APA reports.
He noted that Turkey has made great efforts and still is working hard to prevent the crisis from turning into a tragedy.
We stressed the importance of resolving the issue through dialogue and diplomacy during our talks with both Zelensky and Putin. "We have made it clear that our region, which is struggling with instability, can not endure a new crisis, especially a war of a serious nature," he said.
In addition, Erdogan said that Turkey has demonstrated its policy of protecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the countries in the Ukraine issue.
