The remains of the martyr Ikhtiyar Akbarov, who was believed to have gone missing and whose burial place and identity were determined after 31 years, were handed over to his family, APA's local bureau reports.
A farewell ceremony was held at the house where the martyr and his family lived.
Later, the remains of the martyr were buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Ganja.
Representatives of the Ganja Martyr's Executive Authority, family members of the martyr, families of martyrs, veterans, and representatives of the city community attended the funeral ceremony.
Note that martyr Ikhtiyar Akbarov was born in 1960 in Ganja city. He participated in the First Karabakh War and was considered missing in the 1993 battles in the direction of Aghdara.
He had two children. His wife and one child died.
It was discovered that he was buried as an unknown martyr in the Alley of Martyrs in Tartar, and his identity was determined.
