"Proposals to grant martyr status to those killed in demining activities have been positively received," Chair of the Defence, Security and Counter-Corruption Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Arzu Naghiyev stated during today’s Committee meeting, APA reports.
The Committee chair noted, however, that this proposal is not within the scope of the "On demining activities" law: “Additionally, proposals were made to grant certain concessions and privileges to mine-clearers. Discussions have been held with relevant bodies to amend the related laws to provide these concessions and privileges.”
