Number of new cases increases, hospitalization remains stable in Azerbaijan -JOINT INFORMATION

Ministry of Health, State Agency of Mandatory Health Insurance and Management of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) has disseminated joint information, APA reports.a

The information reads: "As it is known, isolation (quarantine) period of people infected with a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Azerbaijan and their identified "close contacts" has been decreased from 14 days to 7 days. Taking into account the changes to the quarantine period, the number of recoveries has reached 5197 people to date. According to the information dated January 25, 2022, 11525 tests have been applied regarding the determination of new infection cases during the day. As a result, 2468 new coronavirus cases have been recorded. Observations show that the number of people infected with the new strain of coronavirus continues to grow. Despite the sharp increase in the number of infections, hospitalization of those with a positive test result does not develop with the same dynamics. So, the daily number of hospitalizations remains stable".
