MP: Azerbaijan countering separatism has nothing to do with Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process

In the last week, the increase in provocations by the units of the deserter army of Armenia including members of illegal Armenian armed groups in the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed, and on the eve of the Brussels meeting, the increase in attempts to carry out fortification works in the territory of Azerbaijan under the temporary control of peacekeepers show that the separatists do not intend to behave pragmatically, Azerbaijani MP Bahruz Maharramov told APA.

Bahruz Maharramov said that the fact that Pashinyan took Araik's letter to Brussels and the fact that the Armenian MFA did not stop the shows around the border checkpoint of Lachin indicate that although Armenia officially recognizes Karabakh as the territory of Azerbaijan, in fact it has not given up its aggressive intentions and still has some hopes for "miracles": "On the other hand, illegal Armenian armed groups under the protection of the peacekeeping contingent applying radio interference to the GPS satellite navigation systems of passenger planes using the airspace of our country, and the indifference of the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent to the issue, despite repeated appeals, indicate the seriousness of the issue and necessitate the intervention of Azerbaijan itself. The zone where the separatists committed provocations is the territory of Azerbaijan, the steps that can be taken against the separatists, including the anti-terrorist operation, is an internal matter of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan countering terrorism and separatism in the territories where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed has no relevance and influence on the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace process, any identification with this is a threat to Azerbaijan's sovereignty".
