A media tour was organized to the newly inaugurated city stadium in Ganja, APA’s local bureau reports.
Media representatives visited the stadium area.
After getting acquainted with the Ganja city stadium, journalists were briefed on the work carried out. It was stated that all necessary conditions have been created in the modern stadium for both athletes and spectators.
It was noted that the stadium covers an area of more than 10 hectares, with a seating capacity of 15,343 spectators.
Training fields and a football academy building have been constructed on the site by AFFA. The stadium includes changing rooms for players, conference rooms, medical facilities, rooms for referees and technical staff, as well as other necessary areas.
The arena, built in accordance with UEFA's 4th category standards, is equipped with modern lighting, sound, broadcasting, internet, and security systems.
Recall that the Ganja city stadium, constructed between 1959 and 1963, was put into operation in 1964. In recent years, due to the deterioration of the spectator stands and the stadium's technical unsuitability for use, the operation of this sports facility was carried out only partially. Based on the Order signed by President Ilham Aliyev in 2023, an initial AZN 1 million was allocated from the Presidential Reserve Fund for the design and implementation of reconstruction works at the Ganja city stadium. On April 9 of last year, the head of state laid the foundation of the stadium.
Note that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attended the inauguration of the Ganja City Stadium on September 27.
