Emin Agalarov has been appointed as the new chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council. The decision was made during the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Council, APA reports.
The well-known businessman Samad Gurbanov, who had served as the chairman since 2018, has resigned. Another well-known businessman, Emin Agalarov, has been appointed in his place.
Emin Agalarov is the owner of large businesses in Russia and Azerbaijan. His ventures include the Sea Breeze Resort development project and numerous restaurant and fitness chains. He is also a People's Artist of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council was established in 2016 to foster cooperation between the two countries' business communities and to expand trade and economic ties.
Its members represent large, medium, and small businesses operating in various sectors of the economy, such as agriculture, mechanical engineering, petrochemicals, banking, logistics, etc.
